Unknown to family and friends, Laura and Scott are on the verge of divorce. With nowhere else to go, Laura shows up unexpectedly at her husband's grandmother's house.
Knowing something is wrong, Grandma convinces Scott to come to her cabin in the woods, escalating the tension when he finds his wife there. From her deathbed, Grandma fights to get the young couple to see the bigger picture of life and love. When the breakup seems eminent and Laura walks out, Grandma sends Scott into the ethereal woods to find his wife and, perhaps, a little bit more about life.
